Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) is a globally recognized organization dedicated to transforming the lives of millions across India in participatory watershed development and eco- systems restoration, adaptive sustainable agriculture, integrated and efficient water management, and climate change adaptation, with a special emphasis on  vulnerable communities, farmers, and women.

WOTR works across thirteen different areas, using applied research tohelp rural communities  reduce their vulnerabilities to climatic and non climatic risks. It organizes them in a socially and gender inclusive manner to help themselves out of poverty.

Since inception in 1993, WOTR has restored over 8,913 sq.km of degraded land and its schemes have directly and indirectly benefitted 1.4 million people. Over 385,000 people across the country and 63 countries have participated in WOTR’s training and capacity building programs. Headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, WOTR works in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
